CORE DUTIES
QA/QC Management
- Develop and implement QA/QC strategies, procedures, and quality standards for road maintenance and construction projects.
- Oversee laboratory and field testing to ensure work quality at every stage.
- Review and approve test results, sampling plans, and mix designs.
Work & Site Oversight
- Monitor quality control for road works including asphalt, concrete, base layers, and specialized mixes.
- Ensure works comply with project specifications, manuals, and inspection test plans (ITP).
- Conduct site inspections and ensure adherence to engineering and safety standards.
Technical & Project Support
- Work closely with Project Managers to resolve technical issues during project implementation.
- Provide guidance on materials, testing procedures, and construction methods.
- Monitor non-conformance issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, regulatory standards, and road maintenance specifications.
- Conduct plant audits, inspections, and trial works where required.
- Maintain proper QA/QC documentation, reports, and records.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and guide QA/QC personnel and technical staff.
- Support team development through training and knowledge sharing.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities on QA/QC matters.
- Present inspection findings, technical reports, and quality improvement initiatives.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in road construction, maintenance, or civil engineering projects.
- At least 3 years in a QA/QC supervisory or leadership role.
- Proven experience in laboratory and field testing, including asphalt and concrete works.
- Experience managing special mix works (CIPR, HIPR, SMA, PMA, Porous Asphalt) is preferred.
- Familiarity with government or client road maintenance projects is advantageous.
- Must possess a tertiary qualification in Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., Ir. / PE) is a plus.
- Additional QA/QC, materials testing, or project management certifications preferred.
- Strong knowledge of road materials, asphalt, concrete, and pavement structures.
- Understanding of WIM, ITP, SOPs, and QA/QC procedures.
- Proficiency in laboratory testing, site inspections, and trial mix approvals.
- Knowledge of road maintenance regulations, safety standards, and local authority requirements.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and monitor QA/QC activities across multiple sites.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive.
- Effective communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Proficient in computer applications (MS Office, project management software).
